In a few weeks, Larvotto Beach will be busy once more. What can you do there? The Monaco Tribune went on reconnaissance.

It is the principality's largest beach. The sand and gravel stretch, located in the Larvotto section of the nation, also has a promenade with stores, restaurants, and other enterprises of all types.

The esplanade

Whether you come by vehicle, bus, or foot, you'll almost certainly pass past the Larvotto esplanade. It overlooks the beach and allows access to it through steps or lifts. There are a few restaurants here, but it's mostly a spot to relax in the shade and gaze out over the sea. It's also a bike trail, with a convenient Monabike station nearby.

At the other end of the esplanade, there are open-air recreation facilities with a variety of machines and fixed bars overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Water pours from the Lartigue fountain next to it into its 9.5-meter-diameter base. The Lartigue fountain, which has been a feature of the Larvotto promenade since 1970, was reinstated in Place Josephine Baker in May 2022, following a three-year hiatus.

A few-meter-wide tiled walkway covers the length of the beach. Apart from the numerous beach restaurants, all of the stores are on this promenade, immediately under the esplanade.

Restaurants: spoilt for choice

There are a lot of beach eateries. Miami Plage, La Note Bleue, Marco, Neptune Monaco Beach, Giacomo, and others There's a lot to choose from, from Mediterranean to Italian to Mexican food, which has lately debuted on the promenade in the form of Sexy Tacos. It has been in Monaco for six years and will return in the fall of 2022. Prices range from 20 to 40 euros per main meal, depending on the restaurant.

Other businesses sell their items alongside the eateries. The Costa bakery, a Principality tradition, will arrive in May 2022. Prince Albert II attended the ceremony. The business relocated from the Estoril building across the street, facing Larvotto Beach, to the waterfront complex. There are also ice cream shops on the promenade, which will no doubt do a brisk business in the hot summer heat.

Gym, beauty salon, shops…

With the passage of time, the resort has grown and expanded its offerings. There was nowhere for gym users to work out (by the beach) once the Larvotto Gym Center closed in September 2019 due to resort construction. In the spring of 2022, Fit Factory will open on the promenade. The gym, which is open from 7 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. on weekdays and 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on weekends, is 600 m2. The annual membership fee is 1860 euros.

Beauty Angels Monaco offers beauty treatments and hairdressing services if you want to be pampered. Monday through Saturday, from 9.30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Every year, hundreds of visitors and residents go to the 14,000-square-meter Larvotto beach. But what if you forgot to bring your swimming suit? Don't worry, the Palais du Maillot provides everything you need, including swimsuits, flip-flops, beach toys, and floats. There are various clothing stores and an interior design store nearby.

FYI During the summer, the Jardin d'Eveil buildings also serve as an activity center for around fifty children aged three to twelve. Summer 2023 applications are still being accepted. The grounds of the water rescue and diving center, the Académie Monégasque de la Mer (Monaco Sea Academy), as well as a play area with a variety of wooden structures, are also located near the ends of the promenade.
